What's it all about?
Think NZ's food and fibre industry is all about grass and cows? Prepare to have your mind opened.
Technology is changing the way we eat, the materials we use, and is addressing some of the world's biggest environmental problems. This event will highlight the opportunity for our young people to prepare for, and help create, next generation food, fibre and pharma ventures for Taranaki, that will nourish our land and our people, as well as the world.
Presenters from Massey University and BECA will showcase how the application of science and technology is changing this important industry and is helping our region's food production sector to be world class. A panel of recent graduates will also talk about their exciting career paths to date, with a Q & A session to conclude the event.
This is an event open to Taranaki High Schools only. If you would like your school to attend, please register your interest ASAP at natacha@venture.org.nz and advise student numbers.

Speakers
Johan has a well established reputation for his work in mechatronics and robotics. Aside from teaching , Johan is involved with companies throughout NZ as part of the NZ Product Accelerator, bringing their ideas and projects to life, as well as helping students do the same.
Hamish trained as a process engineer, and has been a consultant for BECA for several years. His career has revolved around large scale food production, including process engineering, product development, food safety and automation. He has travelled globally examining Food and Agribusinesses.
