What's it all about?
Ohmio – HMI with wheels – is an autonomous electric shuttle developed in Pakuranga and with sales in NZ, China and Korea. This is an innovation driven by a different philosophy to the big OEMs who are developing autonomous cars. Ohmio is seeking to help change the way cities will in the future provide mobility solutions to their communities, reduce emissions from transport, and make transport systems more efficient. And all this is being done from New Zealand!

Mohammed Hikmet is New Zealand EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2019 and the founder of Ohmio, a New Zealand autonomous shuttle manufacturer. With over 25 years of experience in the Intelligent Transportation Systems Field, Mohammed is a global thought leader on Smart Cities and Future Transportation. Mohammed’s technical background in computer systems and his experience in the governance of large international organisations allows him to utilise a practical and achievable approach to achieving the big ideas of the future. His next area of focus is on fostering and championing entrepreneurship within New Zealand to develop world-changing industries in the heart of Aotearoa.
