TakiWaehere - New Zealand Geospatial Hackathon Showcase

Join us at this showcase to hear the top teams from the TakiWaehere – New Zealand Geospatial Hackathon present their ideas for solving and addressing real life challenges such as understanding Covid-19 activity patterns, managing emergencies, and planning for a changing coast!

In April as part of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment’s Innovative Partnerships programme, the New Zealand Space Agency and Maxar Technologies hosted TakiWaehere – a 24 hour hackathon for New Zealand university students. Students used Maxar Technologies high resolution earth observation imagery and combined it with their data science skills to create exciting and innovative solutions to address a range of challenges.

Now at Techweek hear some of the students share their experiences from the hackathon, present their solutions to the challenges and find out what’s next for these emerging data scientists.
