What's it all about?

Age is no barrier when it comes to success in the tech world. Five of the Hi-Tech Awards Young Achievers finalists will join Techweek TV host Ryan Ashton to talk about their tech careers so far, what drives them to give back to their communities, and how the New Zealand tech sector can encourage more diversity.

Georgia Robertson

Chief Executive Officer NZ - Humantix

Corporate lawyer turned social entrepreneur, Georgia is the NZ CEO of Humanitix, the tech-social enterprise bringing people together to inspire and invest in humanity, disrupting the events industry with humane tech. A firm believer that every-day choices stack up to massive action, with impressive business, social enterprise and governance sector credentials, Georgia understands the power of business to bring to life a better vision for our world. A World Economic Forum Global Shaper, Georgia was one of the youngest elected Chairs of Youthline CSI and left a promising career in corporate law to lead the go to market of Humanitix in New Zealand. Humanitix’s game changing venture philanthropy model attracted backing from tech giants Google, Atlassian as well as innovative local philanthropists NEXT Foundation. Achieving over 300% year on year growth since, Humanitix is one for the watch-list and the fastest growing ticketing platform in Australasia, funding projects like literacy programs for young girls and addressing the digital divide for young Māori and Pasifika students.

Maria English

Chief Executive - ImpactLab

Maria is Chief Executive at ImpactLab, an analytics startup that connects decision-makers with the information they can act on so they can grow their social impact and do good, better. As a consultant at Boston Consulting Group, Maria advised senior leaders of public, private and nonprofit organisations on strategy, operations and data governance. Maria has an MBA from Stanford University, where she created an online platform to support children with learning disabilities, and a BA in Politics, Psychology and Sociology from the University of Cambridge.
