What's it all about?

Keen to find out more about local projects and their innovative use of technology for environmental sustainability?

Join us at Puke Ariki to hear from a range of presenters sharing their exciting work in Taranaki – topics will range from artificial intelligence and environmental sensing to citizen science and community engagement.

The focus of the event is to highlight community-driven projects and create connections among like-minded people in the region. There will a Q&A and an opportunity to network at the end.

Students from the Taranaki Gifted Community Trust will explain the scientific work they are doing with cameras and wētā in Egmont National Park.

Students from Auroa School will share how they are developing sound lures, electronic devices that use noises such as baby birds cheeping, to attract predators including stoats and possums into traps.

Taranaki Kiwi Trust and students from Oakura School will talk how they search for signals from the transmitters worn by kiwi birds.
