Not only does New Zealand have a chronic shortage of skilled digital technology professionals, we are also lacking the teachers to train those professionals. Plus, digital tech is incredibly fast moving and you learn it best on the job, so do we need to re-think how we teach tech? Can we adapt technology education to be more up-to-date, more scalable and fully equipped to meet the growing demands of our digital world?
Hear from Simon Singh on how Taranaki’s own Learner Me is tackling these challenges and be part of the conversation to ensure our region has the workforce to make it a leader in our digital future.
Spaces are limited so registration is essential.
Simon is a director of Taranaki’s biggest technology group of companies. The group includes Proformac Technologies, an IT-based company that has been in operation for 30 years. Proformac has strong ties with both Apple and Microsoft and Simon is a fully certified Apple and Microsoft engineer.
Simon has a passion for education, and is the CEO of Learner Me, a technology-based training organisation developed as a response to difficulties in finding suitably skilled local staff.
In his varied roles, Simon has worked with many organisations and stakeholders to develop targeted solutions, infrastructure services and custom software solutions for SME’s, with regular and ongoing engagement throughout the course of their relationship and beyond.
