Intelligent Guardians is a live virtual event where you will hear from some of Nelson Tasman’s most inspiring and innovative businesses and people who are leading the charge when it comes to applying research, science and technology to solve some of the greatest challenges of our time.
We know the future of the global economy is greener, fairer and more regenerative. So, how can we utilise science and technology to lead into this new chapter? And how can we turn crisis into opportunity? We’ll explore that and so much more at the inaugural Intelligent Guardians event.
The event will feature four keynote speaker who will talk for 10 minutes each followed by a panel discussion. Keynote speakers include:
Mark Houghton Brown - Co-Founder, Nelson Artificial Intelligence Institute
Miriana Stephens - Director of Innovation, Wakatū Incorporation
Florence van Dyke - Co-Founder, Chia Sisters
Volker Kuntzsch - Chief Executive, Cawthron Institute
There will be a break from 6.45pm - 7.15pm between the keynotes and panel discussion.
Mark is a co-founder and director of the Nelson AI Institute, which synthesises technology with business and environmental challenges. He is a farmer by profession, an entrepreneur by nature and an environmentalist by conviction, whose commercial focus includes clean technology and marketing progressive solutions. He has founded and exited multiple successful enterprises during a 30 year career in the UK and New Zealand.
Volker is CE of New Zealand's largest independent science organisation, the Cawthron Institute, who are a key player in building sustainable primary industry in New Zealand. Prior to this Volker was CEO of Sanford since 2013 and had a distinguished international career spanning more than 30 years which included working in Namibia, Germany, the UK, USA and Japan.
