New Zealand uses circa 2.7Billion litres of diesel for transport annually. As we move to a decarbonised world with EV and Fuel Cell vehicle uptake growing is there also an opportunity to be more efficient with the fuel we use. But how do we get more use from each of the litres we use?
Currently the transport sector uses logistics modelling software in a reasonable siloed approach at an organisational level for the efficient operation of trucking fleets. How can we bring these models together or use AI to get more bang for our buck. What would this look like in a cooperation model and how could a modal shift of goods not only help us decarbonise, but reduction a in road milage will have a benefit of reduced HSE risk with less harm and associated social costs.
