12:00pm - 1:00pm
Creative coding is a field that highlights both art and science. This free workshop provides a hands-on introduction to programmatic design in a fun and visual way. Creating with code encourages new consideration to parametric design approaches as well as allowing for generative outputs. During this short workshop, the instructor will talk you through some conditional drawing exercises before diving into some p5.js programming. P5.js is a javascript library specifically designed for creative coding. It has features that allow for rapid prototyping and immediate visual feedback.
This is an introductory level course to coding. You don't need any previous experience in coding to participate. If you are already familiar with code you will have room to experiment.
Open to high school students and teachers, university students and staff, industry professionals, and the general public. For anyone interested in design and tech.
Limited amount of tickets: Please register to secure your ticket. There is no charge for this workshop. However, failing to attend, or withdrawing within 2 working days of the workshop you may be charged a $50.00 administration fee.
